Spotlight: Jack and Jill Foundation

Healthy Kids Day

The Jack and Jill of America (JJOA) Foundation, Bucks County chapter, participated with the Fairless Hills YMCA Healthy Kids Day on April 14th to promote healthy living and healthy children. The YMCA was the recipient of the Jack and Jill of America Foundation Health & Wellness Grant, ensuring the event was loaded with fun stuff that kept participating youth engaged.

This free event had all the bells and whistles of a carnival with a moon bounce, games, nutritional food, crafts, a balloonist, yoga, Nami-mental health, autism advocacy and a DJ and prizes. Many volunteers from JJOA helped with set up and staffing of the event.

The anti-bullying table enlisted youth to pledge against bullying behavior which opened dialogue in a healthy way. This station was staffed solely by teens.

JJOA’s mission is to address issues affecting African American children and families, by investing in programs and services that create a strong foundation for children to thrive long-term.

“This is the first event they’ve been able to participate in since covid,” said Andrew Yannarella, Vice President of Operations at the YMCA. “We’re so happy to have them back as our partner.

Andrew is also proud that the YMCA is now open for one year since the renovations were completed. To learn more about Jack and Jill Foundation, visit their website at jackandjillfoundation.org/.
