There are two choices that you will need to choose from – the Zoom in-office tooth whitening procedure using the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp or the take-home kit. Before deciding whether Zoom in-office whitening is right for you, we will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums to ensure proper health, as well as talk with you about your oral hygiene and lifestyle habits to see if you will truly benefit from whitening.
During this consultation, the doctor would also address any dental work you already have (crowns, veneers, etc.), which would not respond to whitening agents. It is recommended that you get your regular teeth cleaning prior to the actual Zoom teeth whitening session.
The Zoom procedure begins with a short preparation to cover the lips and gums to protect from any sensitivity. Our whitening specialist then applies Zoom hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, which penetrates your teeth to break up the stain and discoloration.
This gel stays on the exposed teeth for 15 minutes while the special light is activated. During this time, patients can relax while listening to music.
After the procedure, which takes about two hours, you should be left with fantastic results. You will just need to avoid certain foods and beverages to avoid any staining.
