When many of us think of celebrating birthdays, it usually includes a cake, candles and of course, presents. For Romeo Angelini, the presents he receives on his birthday are not for him, but for his Bucks County neighbors in need.
Since his 10th birthday, the Neshaminy High School junior has held a drive for the Family Service Food Pantry in Langhorne. “I learned that food pantries often are in more need when my birthday comes around, since it is just before the holidays in December,” said Angelini. “The gift of giving back is better than any present I could receive on my birthday.”
Because of his support and generosity, Family Service is acknowledging Romeo with the Susan N. Altomari Champion for Youth Award. Each year, the Susan N. Altomari Champion for Youth Award recognizes those who positively impact the lives of youth in Bucks County through Family Service.
Julie Dees, Chief Executive Officer, is delighted with Angelini’s generosity. “We are so grateful to have Romeo living in our community,’ said Dees. “His selflessness and dedication to supporting our Food Pantry for so long demonstrates wisdom beyond his years. I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of this award, and I am certain that Susan Altomari is proud.”
