‘Kindness Bench’ installed at Mayors’ Playground

Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 2132 recently completed two projects to serve the Langhorne community and earn their Bronze Award. The girls had to work together for their journey to earn the Bronze Award and bridge to Cadette Scouts for the 2023-24 year.

They first decided to do a clean-up of trash from various roads and parks in Langhorne Borough. Then they built and installed a “Kindness Bench” at the Mayors’ Playground.

The bench was assembled on site by the girls with minimal adult help. They handled power tools and paint supplies.

After painting the wood a Girl Scout green, they painted their own handprints in various colors and added phrases of kindness including “The impossible is possible,” “There is beauty everywhere,” and “You are loved.” Look for these and more phrases of kindness when you visit the Mayors’ Playground in Langhorne Borough.

The Langhorne Borough Recreation Board and Borough Council appreciate the efforts of these young women.
