Craft. Love. Community.
Nestled among preserved wetlands and railroad tracks on Big Oak Road in Langhorne, Aristaeus Craft Brewing is an open-concept nano-brewery with indoor/outdoor seating, 12 taps serving a variety of true-to-style beers, hand-crafted nitro cold-brew coffee, wine, and canned and specialty cocktails.
The wetlands provide a picturesque setting and the top ingredient in beer: water. A deep well on the property that draws from four aquifers was certified by the PA DEP and provides pure, untouched water rich in minerals and free of chemicals.
Owner/brewer Harry Arnold started home-brewing in 1996. Before retiring from his first career, he began pursuing his dream of opening a local brewery. “I spent a lot of time researching the industry, traveling to breweries, talking with owners, and designing the experience I wanted to provide in my taproom.”
A common question he’s asked is “Where did the name come from?” “I often brew with honey and while researching a name, I found the story of Aristaeus and his bees. When I learned that Aristaeus was the patron of many rustic arts, including bee-keeping, I knew it was the perfect name.”
Recently, Aristaeus became the first commercial brewery in the world outside of Brazil to brew a Brazilian Ale using Brazilian-grown hops, an opportunity Harry couldn’t pass up. “Brazilian Ale is a little-known style, and I was excited to collaborate with Brazilian brewers and farmers to develop my unique recipe for the beer I named ‘Primeiro Sol.’”
During colder weather, a heated/enclosed tent is available for guests who prefer to sit outside, including those visiting with leashed, well-behaved dogs. There is always something different at Aristaeus – food trucks, live music, Thursday night trivia, and more.
