Since 1956, when then Pennsbury superintendent Medill Bair first launched the idea for the Pennsbury Scholarship Foundation, almost 2,000 Pennsbury High School graduates have been assisted with funding for their post-secondary education.
Scholarship awards consist of half grant and half zero-interest loan with flexible repayment.
For the 2023-2024 school year, 72 students were awarded $185,000.
PHS graduates may apply before the May deadline every year they are enrolled in a qualifying post-secondary education program.
In addition to helping PHS graduates fund their education, the PSF offers the community the opportunity to create endowed scholarships in memory or honor of a loved one; these are awarded annually.
Currently, over 50 namesake scholarships exist.
The PSF has always relied on the support of the community in order to carry out our mission.
Community members and parents are encouraged to get involved by helping to read applicant essays in June, joining our all-volunteer board of directors, and by donating to this worthy cause.
