Would you make a beautiful quilt filled with love to give to a child you didn’t even know?
At Quilts for Kids (QFK) over 18,000 volunteers all across the country say, “Yes!” Twenty-three years ago, Yardley resident Linda Arye founded Quilts for Kids, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit to keep fabric out of landfills and provide quilts to children in need.
Today, QFK has defied expectations by comforting over 250,000 children with quilts made by more than 18,000 volunteers.
Sixty-five chapters have been started all across the country by dedicated quilters who want to make a difference in their own communities.
Hospital caregivers and agency workers tell QFK what a difference the quilts make to the children and their families.
“Thank you all so very much for the lovely and special quilts for children in foster care. We can’t wait to get them into the sweet little hands that need them.”
Parents find time to send their notes of appreciation as well.
