Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are encouraged to attend the GriefShare program at Fallsington United Methodist Church.
The sessions take place every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:45pm, beginning February 6th and concluding on April 30th. This inclusive program, open to all denominations, provides Christ-centered, biblical teachings addressing various aspects of grief following the passing of a loved one.
Participants can join at any point during the 13-week program, as each session is self-contained.
Each week, the GriefShare experience consists of three essential parts: a video presentation, small group discussions, and a participant guide featuring personal study exercises reinforcing the weekly themes.
The program showcases the latest GriefShare 4.0 video content, featuring nationally renowned grief experts and relatable real-life stories. Facilitating the GriefShare group are empathetic individuals who have navigated their own grief journeys, acknowledging the painful nature of the grief recovery process.
They also know how helpful the GriefShare information and follow-up discussions can be to help rebuild lives.
Regardless of the circumstances of the bereavement experience, the program offers encouragement, comfort, and guidance in mourning the loss of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend.
Participants receive empathetic support from those who have endured similar grief, learning to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and discover how to face a new normal and renew hope for the future.
Since 2021, the church has offered the 13-week GriefShare program each spring and fall. Interested individuals are encouraged to register online at www.griefshare.org/groups/183464, or simply arrive a few minutes early to any session to register in person.
