CB-CB West Hall of Fame awards 2024 athletic scholarships

On Wednesday May 22, two graduating seniors each received $1,000.00 from the Central Bucks-Central Bucks High School West Hall of Fame Committee (CBW HOF) at the school’s annual awards ceremony.

Henry Hunt, CB West Athletic Director, and HOF Board Member presented the scholarships to Nina Mayro of Doylestown and Eddie Rafalowski of Warrington.

The students were selected on the merits of their essays on the role of athletics in their lives.

As the winners of HOF’s essay contest, each graduate will use the award toward their college expenses. This was HOF’s 19th annual scholarship award to an outstanding male and female athlete upon their graduation.

Nina Mayro competed in field hockey, lacrosse, and unified track, sports where “…adversity, attitude, positiveness, patience…impacted the person I am today.”

Twice at States two years in a row for field hockey, and currently West lacrosse is 9th out of 48th in the district as the year closes. She will attend Georgetown University in the fall.

Eddie Rafalowski, who will enter Clemson University in South Carolina, competed in soccer and lacrosse, two sports at West. He stated, “These things taught me how essential teamwork is for achieving common goals in sports, personal relationships and future careers”.
