    Spotlight: Charlann Farms

Summer is SWEET at Charlann Farms

    By Lori Katz

Summer is one of our favorite seasons at Charlann Farms. Summer brings us an abundance of agricultural delights. Early in July, our delicious, sweet corn will be ready and soon our tomatoes will be exploding from the vines.

It is a great time to shop locally at our farmstand, open seven days a week now. Not only do we have our fresh fruits and vegetables available for purchase, but we also have other locally sourced items such as milk, eggs, meats, and cheeses.

Last year, we held our first ever Sweet Corn Festival. We love sweet corn so much that this year, we decided to designate an entire weekend to celebrate this crop.

On August 3rd and 4th, from 11:00am – 5:00pm, we will host our Second Annual Sweet Corn Festival.

It will be bigger than last year, and certainly much sweeter. There will be live music on both dates, specialty corn-menu items, corn-themed activities and games, corn-husking contests, burlap sack races, corn hole, our huge jump pad, pony rides, a corn pit and fun for the whole family.

People had a blast last year in our corn-husking contest and we hope even more people join in on the fun this year! There will be food and drink vendors, and a visit from radio station 94.5 WPST!

The kitchen at Charlann Farms will have delicious watermelon slushies available to keep everyone cool! Tickets are $9.99 per person, ages two plus, and are available now through our website: www.charlannfarms.com.

Tickets include admission into the event, live music, corn-themed games/activities, the jump pad, and barrel cart rides. Pony Rides, food, and drinks are an additional fee.

Check out our website for other upcoming events, including our Farm to Table Dinner on August 23rd.
