If you have perused the artwork at the Michener Museum, Phillips Mill, or any local art show; you have most likely admired the handiwork of Jenny Schaeffer. While Jenny is indeed an accomplished artist in her own right, her particular mastery resides in calling attention to and elevating the art of others.
Jenny Schaeffer owns Phoenix Art Supply and Framing, a Bucks County staple for over 30 years, and Jenny takes great pride in being its new caretaker. While Jenny has only held the reins for two years, she has helmed its framing department for the past fifteen. This year, however, brings an even more remarkable milestone for Jenny: a celebration of her forty years in the framing industry!
Upon graduating high school, Jenny sought a career which would utilize her skills in mathematics and her love of art. She initially considered the field of architecture, but her need for a part-time job would soon change this goal. Jenny found work at The Framing Fox in Hillsboro, NJ; and that part-time job soon became a lifelong vocation. Jenny discovered a love for the color theory, the design, the precision, and the attention to detail involved in framing.
In her forty years in the industry, Jenny has framed many strange and wonderful works of all shapes and sizes, gaining her a reputation as the “MacGyver of framing.” This well-earned reputation has led to many valuable relationships within the local businesses.
It is this rich history of Bucks County that continues to inspire Jenny more than any other place, as well as its culture of creativity and vibrant community of artists. Jenny has expressed gratitude in the acceptance of the local independent businesses and community leaders, thrilled to be a part of Bucks County’s cooperative spirit.
