Community choir to host Mozart summer sing

The New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir will be host a Mozart Summer Sing on Tuesday evening, July 16 at 7 p.m. The summer session will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, and is the latest NHSLCC-hosted event, part of the organization’s ongoing expansion into the community.

Singers of all kinds – from beginner to advanced – are invited to join with NHSLCC artistic director/founder Rick Rosen, accompanist Roburt Gajdos, members of the Community Choir, and area singers, to sing through some of Mozart’s very best choral music.

The evening will begin with sing-along readings of Mozart’s “Bona nox!” and “Ave Verum Corpus”, followed by the Requiem, to be sung by all the attending singers. Participants are welcome to bring their own scores, or loaner copies of the music will be provided.

“We believe that music is medicine and that music is for everyone,” says Rosen.

“Our basic idea is to make music and musical expression accessible not just to those who enjoy the ‘upper levels’ of listening and performance, but to one and all.

This Summer Sing, where we all get an opportunity to sing this miraculously wonderful music in a no fault/no blame setting, is a great example of what we’re about.”

NHSLCC’s Mozart Summer Session is on Tuesday evening, July 16 at 7 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Rd. in Solebury. The suggested donation is $5.
