Spotlight: Charlann Farms

Our farm to your fork

by Lori Katz

August is peak season for many of Pennsylvania’s vegetable crops, which excites us at Charlann Farms. For us, that means our fields are full with fresh and delicious produce. Our farmers will continue spending long hours in the fields to harvest these items for this community. Our farmstand becomes even busier with customers stocking up on the sweetest corn, ripest tomatoes, and juiciest cantaloupe and watermelon.

Last year, we hosted our first ever Farm to Table Dinner at Charlann Farms. This event provided an opportunity for like-minded community members to come together and celebrate our local bounty. This year, we will host our second annual Farm to Table Dinner on August 23. Local chef, Joseph Garvey, will utilize the freshest ingredients possible providing a flavorful and memorable dining experience.

This event will specifically showcase our homegrown fruits and vegetables while incorporating food and items from other local producers that are sold in our farmstand. As the evening unfolds, the enchanting melodies of live music by The Fermenters Trio will weave through the air, creating an ambiance that is nothing short of magical.

We hope events like this will highlight the importance of local farms while ultimately connecting people with the farmers growing their food. This year’s event will feature a “Meet & Greet” opportunity with the farmers so guests can learn more about where their food comes from and how it is grown.

We’re proud of our sixth generation roots at Charlann Farms and are dedicated to the mission of providing fresh, healthy, nutritious, and delicious fruits and vegetables for our community. From our fields to your fork, we hope you will join us in celebration on August 23. Tickets are available through our website www.charlannfarms.com.
