Cheap fixes to help sell your home quicker

If you’re considering selling your home anytime soon, Now is the time to do the things that will help it sell faster and increase your bottom line. Often, it’s the little things that make the biggest impact. Things like:

  1. Neutralize. You may have a flair for decorating and think bold colors make a statement, but the goal is to appeal to the masses.
  1. Fix Stuff. You know the things you’ve been meaning to get to but haven’t yet? Get to it.
  1. Declutter. People need to imagine their stuff in your space. And they can’t do it with your stuff all over.
  1. Spiffy Up Your Front Yard. The adage about never having a second chance to make a first impression is true, especially when the first introduction to your home is online.
  1. Change Your Cabinet Hardware. Yes, I know brass is in again – but not the brass knobs from your 1980’s kitchen. This simple fix can have a huge impact.
  1. Update Your Lighting Fixtures. Get rid of that builder grade lighting you were going to live with temporarily and is now 20 years old. This too has a big impact.
  1. Paint your front door and create a vignette on your front porch. Remember that people will be standing on your front porch looking around while the agent fumbles with keys. Don’t know what a vignette is? Call me.
  1. Clean. Clean. Clean. Nothing turns off buyers more than a home that is less than clean. Or one that stinks like dogs, diapers or cigarettes. Bring in the professionals if you have to.

These are just a few ideas. The key is knowing what is – and isn’t – worth doing. What is – and isn’t – worth spending your time and/or money on. That’s what my free

Home Evaluation program is all about. I’ll walk through your home with you and give you suggestions on just that. Don’t wait until the last minute; planning ahead will eliminate a lot of stress and aggravation. Reach out to 215-801-2019 or Kathleen@KathleenLayton.com. I’d love to meet you!
