RD’s guide to the perfect lawn: Top five lawn care musts

The Dittes family started their Lawn Care business in 2018. Ryan and Lindsay are local owners who live in Langhorne with their three children. They have been blessed with great customers and even better employees along the way. This has allowed them to grow the company over the years.

Today they have roughly 12 team members and offer lawn mowing and landscaping.

RD’s Total Lawn wanted to share their top 5 tips for a healthy lawn this season. They are also booking out the schedule now for aeration and overseeding services for September/October.

  1. 1/3rd Rule: The goal is to not take more than 1/3rd of the size of lawn blade down when cutting the lawn. Anything beyond 1/3rd the size of the blade will stress the lawn. So, try to avoid letting the grass get too long or mowing it down too short.
  2. Sharp blades: You want to ensure your blades are sharp to cut the grass rather than tear it with a dull blade.
  3. Mow high: During the heat of the summer it’s best to mow it high to protect your lawn against heat stress.
  4. Water in the morning: It’s best to water your grass in the morning. This allows for the water to get to the soil before the blazing sun evaporates it. Avoid nighttime watering as sitting water overnight can promote fungus.
  5. Aerate and overseed in the fall: As the summer winds down, there is no better thing to do for your lawn in September/October than to aerate and overseed. This will help bring the lawn back from summer stress.

The family appreciates your business and support! They encourage you to check out their reputation online at www.RDTotalLawn.com.
