Spotlight: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church

Meet Fr. Dave, St. Luke’s new rector

St. Luke’s is pleased to share the appointment of Fr. David R. Radzik as the new rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 100 E. Washington Ave. in Newtown. Fr. Dave started at Saint Luke’s in July after serving seven years at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Berea, OH. He and his wife Lorrin, and their three young children relocated to Newtown at the end of June and are enjoying learning all that Newtown and Bucks County has to offer.

In a recent Facebook post, Fr. Dave introduced himself to the Newtown community, “I want to be a resource to the broader community and not just within the parish community so please drop me a line or stop by the church anytime. I try to be as approachable as possible. And if you see me out and about, don’t hesitate to say hello. I’m here for Newtown.”

On Wednesday, August 7 from 3 – 5 p.m., Fr. Dave is hosting Popsicles in the Park with his family at Noah’s Playground in Veterans Park in Newtown (234 Durham Rd.). Families are invited to hang out, and enjoy an icy treat. All are welcome!

In addition to St. Luke’s usual Sunday services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., St. Luke’s will celebrate the Assumption of Mary on Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m.

In fall, Fr. Dave will start a bible study group, as well as “Breakfast hang-outs with Fr. Dave”. There are also plans for St. Luke’s to participate in Newtown’s Halloween festivities.

On Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m., St. Luke’s will celebrate All Saints Day with a candlelit Mass, and on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 9 a.m., St. Luke’s will have a requiem Mass for All Souls Day.
