Spotlight: The Bucks County Renaissance Faire

Labor Day weekend 2024

Hear ye, hear ye! The Bucks County Renaissance Faire embarks on its inaugural season this Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31, Sept. 1, and Sept. 2. All ages are invited to three days of legendary fun on the grounds of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works Museum, 130 E. Swamp Road in Doylestown, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

From captivating performances on multiple stages to an artisan marketplace bustling with unique treasures, there’s truly something for everyone. Delight your taste buds with a variety of foods and treats, including a classic turkey leg paired with a refreshing beverage from Crooked Eye Brewery.

Award-winning headliners include Shakespeare Approves! a family-friendly show that takes audiences on hilarious adventures. Join juggler and sideshow performer David Darwin for his amazing stunts, including sword swallowing. Celtic magicians Daniel and Bella GreenWolf will dazzle audiences with their fire-breathing and interactive comedy.

Musical standouts include Foxy Bard and Twig, a duo offering a unique blend of Renaissance music, folk, and world music; fiddler Keith Engle; and a capella group Pieces of eight. Don’t forget to “shame thy friends” by enlisting the services of Swashbuckling Mercenaries for Hire. They’ll toss your loved ones in the stockades and give them the ol’ fuzzy tomato for unforgettable fun.
