The Bucks County Chapter of 100+ Women Who Care celebrates its 10-year anniversary!

Started in 2014 as a revolutionary way to raise funds for local charities without the effort required with traditional fundraising, 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County is getting ready to celebrate its 10-year anniversary on September 10 at Northampton Valley Country Club in Richboro.

What began with 35 members, who were friends and clients of founder Lynne Kelleher, a local real estate agent, has now grown to over 275 women.

“I wanted a way to give back to the community that has supported me throughout my career,” says Kelleher, “but didn’t have the time to devote to traditional fundraising models. This group’s brilliance is in its simplicity.”

Not only is it brilliant, but it’s also effective. Members agree to meet quarterly for one hour and donate $100. At the meeting, three charities, which have been nominated by members, give a five-minute presentation to vie for the funds. The members then vote, and the funds are distributed in accordance with the voting percentages.

At the September celebration, over $28,000 will be raised. And they’ll do it in one hour.

Kelleher hopes to increase membership to over 300 women by the end of the year. “I know there are women out there who want to help others, but can’t fit one more thing on their already overloaded plate,” she says. “This is the perfect vehicle to do that, all while enjoying a glass of wine with a room full of amazing women who do amazing things for their community.”
