Bucks County based non-profit Main St. celebrates continued growth and community collaboration

Three people participate in the Luminary Stroll.

Main St. (formerly Pine2Pink), a local 501(c)(3) focused on helping our local Bucks County breast cancer community, is happy to share exciting news regarding its upcoming seventh season which will begin October 2024.  Main St. is happy to announce it will kick-off its fundraising campaign with the Earth Angel Awards and Luminary Stroll which will be open to the public and hosted by The Mercer Museum.  Additionally, the non-profit will expand its footprint into Yardley, and Main St. will be the beneficiary of the much-anticipated 2nd Annual Mr. Bucks County competition in Newtown.

Each year, Main St.’s footprint has thoughtfully expanded.  What began in 2018 in Doylestown is now in New Hope, Carversville, Peddler’s Village, Newtown, Perkasie, Shops at Valley Square and now in 2024 the non-profit will happily expand to Yardley.

Executive Director and Founder of Main St. Keith Fenimore states, “Yardley is an amazing town.  We are happy that we’ve been able to connect with local retailers and community members who wanted to support our non-profit’s mission.  It was a natural extension to bring Main St. to Yardley. Our hope is in years to come the Yardley Borough and municipality leaders will join their local businesses and support Main St. to increase the impact our non-profit has on the lives of Yardley residents battling breast cancer.”

Main St. is set to launch its seventh season at the Mercer Museum in the heart of the cultural district of Doylestown on Thursday, September 26 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.  The museum will be illuminated pink throughout the month.  This special night will feature the non-profit’s popular Luminary Stroll and Earth Angel Awards.  Pine St. will be closed down to all traffic, and hundreds of luminary bags featuring personalized messages written by our local community members to those who have, or who are battling breast cancer will line both sides of the street.  The night will continue with an amazing awards presentation honoring three people who are doing amazing work and making a positive impact on our breast cancer community.

Please note, this event is free to the public.  Anyone interested in writing a personal message on a luminary bag please contact: www.welcometomainst.org/events.  We suggest a donation for each message and will display and share your personal message along the luminary stroll at the event.

The programs created and funded by Main St. are extensive and include, but are not limited to: home food delivery, patient out-of-pocket expenses, cold-capping, treatment transportation, patient comfort bags, integrative services and the purchase of infusion chairs at Fox Chase in Buckingham and Doylestown’s Cancer Center.

Main St. is still accepting sponsorships and partnerships from those in the community who own a business and have interest. If you would like to sponsor, partner or host an event, please get in touch. Visit www.welcometomainst.org or email keith@welcometomainst.org

There are multiple ways to get involved, participate and support:

  • Thousands of lights will turn pink from streetlamps to storefronts, museums, municipal buildings, car dealerships, shopping malls and people’s homes.
  • Main St. will benefit from nearly 20 events throughout the month.
  • Shopping with Purpose: Nearly 100 stores and restaurants will participate in the non-profit’s ‘Shop, Eat and Drink Pink’ program where special Main St. items will be sold with a percentage of sales going to Main St.
  • The Main St. free app uses ‘augmented reality’ to create an interactive scavenger hunt, where over 100 virtual ‘hugs’ will be hidden across Bucks County. Using smartphones people will capture the hugs for prizes including gift cards and experience-based prizes.
