Friends of Doylestown Library hosts September programs

A variety of programs, offering fun for all ages, will be hosted in September by the Friends of the Doylestown Library.

September 7, 10 am to 11:30 pm – Reading to the Dogs returns, offering young readers the chance to interact with trained therapy dogs and take home a favorite book. The program will be repeated on the first Saturday of each month through December. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and should be pre-registered (see below) for one of three time slots – 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 am (Walks-in will be admitted while space is available.)

September 9, 1-2:30 pm – “Six Things to Know About Your Gut,” a presentation by a nutritionist and educator from Doylestown Health, will help participants learn about gut health. Preregistration (see below) is recommended.

September 19, 6:30-8 pm – “Improv Night – An Event for All Ages” is an evening of family-friendly, cutting-edge comedy presented by Rick Horner and his troupe of local performers. “The audience plays a crucial role by providing scene suggestions,” said Horner. “No scripts are involved. Everything is created on the spot, making each performance unique and unpredictable.” Preregistration (see below) is recommended.

September 23, 1-3 pm – “What’s It Worth?,” the popular antiques workshop and appraisal program, will be hosted by radio host and author Mike Ivankovich as a fundraiser for the Friends. Attendance is $5, and appraisals are an additional $5 per item, paid at the door (cash, check, credit card or Venmo). Preregister (see below), indicating whether you will bring an item for appraisal.

All programs will be held in the Pearl Buck Room of the Doylestown Library, 150 S. Pine St., in Doylestown. Preregister by emailing: friendsofdoylestownlibrary@gmail.com
