Most people will set the moisture level well above standard moisture levels to counteract the dry air they are experiencing. Also, the humidity goes to all rooms in the house regardless of air circulation quality.
The fact is that your home already gets a significant amount of moisture from standard home use such as steam from showers, steam from cooking, etc. These activities alone all help to create a safe level of humidity in the home.
