The annual 5K Anyway Color Fun Run for Accessibility was held on Sunday, October 13 at Macclesfield Park in Yardley. During the race, participants passed through Color Zones, getting showered with vibrant colors. This event supports Lower Makefield Parks and Recreation in their continued goal to make all its community parks better accessible to all citizens.
The run brought together 170 registrants in perfect weather for the occasion, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 60 degrees, contributing to a lively color-filled atmosphere.
Amongst those participating in the event were volunteers from various local organizations, including the LMT Disability Advisory Board, Yardley Makefield Soccer, the LMT Youth Committee, and Sunrise Senior Living highlighting community spirit surrounding the run.
Aiming to raise funds for the LMT ADA Transition Plan, the event was sponsored by Shoprite, McCaffery’s, and Wegmans, resulting in projected proceeds of around $1,000 for ADA projects
The 5K Anyway Color Fun Run continues to be a highlight in the community, blending fun, fitness, and support for accessibility initiatives.
