Blue Christmas Service
Fallsington United Methodist Church (FUMC), located at 50 LaCross St. in Historic Fallsington, Bucks County will offer members and friends a Blue Christmas service Sunday December 15 at 7:00 pm. Blue Christmas is a gentle, contemplative service for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration.
Although this service, now in its 13th year, began as a quiet, reflective alternative to traditional services and celebrations of yuletide festivities, this year, our thinking and programming has been challenged to offer a service that connects an overwhelming amount of change in everyday life, both in the home and the church.
The beloved traditions, once a highlight of the Christmas season, will not be the same this year. In the past couple of years, we have experienced grief and change as never before.
FUMC will offer this Blue Christmas service as support and friendship for those who want to feel acceptance as they maneuver the holidays in these exceptional and very difficult times.
Over the years we have had many people tell us at the end of this special service that they did not want to come to this Blue Christmas gathering, but said, they are sure glad they did attend. It really did help them.
