Feasterville Rotary Club Donates Coats to Children in Need

Feasterville Rotary Club has been providing warm coats to kids in need for over 15 years. With the help of our generous community, no child is ever turned away.

The project started for Feasterville Rotary when Dick Sanford, a Rotarian from Longwood Rotary Club in Kennett Square, PA, came to talk at one of Feasterville Rotary’s meetings. Dick is the founder of Operation Warm. He was moved by seeing the impact warm coats had on families. His rotary club and district supported his non-profit, as have many other organizations over the years.

Feasterville Rotary gets their coats from Operation Warm to this day. In past years, Feasterville Rotary raised funds to purchase the costs by holding a community spaghetti dinner each fall.

More recently we are supported by several regular larger donors and individuals from our community. All the coats are given out through the elementary and middle schools in Lower Southampton Township. The schools identify the children in need, and all coats are given out confidentially. The coats are well made and warm, and each one is different.

Feasterville Rotary gives out more than 100 coats each year!

Making sure all of the children of Lower Southampton are warm during the winter is one of the major projects for Feasterville Rotary and one that means a lot to the club. For more information, email am@portraitsbyanne-marie.com.
