    Bucks Beautiful Board of Directors Developments

    Bucks Beautiful is pleased to announce many exciting developments regarding the Board of Directors. After completing his five-year term as President of the Board, Gary Mathern has stepped down, however will remain on the Board of Directors. He accomplished much during his tenure, including instituting marketing efforts and expanding the print and social media focus to successfully increase awareness of the nonprofit in the community. Additionally, Gary oversaw the inauguration of the membership program and quarterly newsletter. 

    Michael Flanagan has been elected as the new President of the Board. He joined Bucks Beautiful’s board in July 2023. Michael and husband William have been longtime supporters and carry the distinction of being part of our Charter Membership.  They graciously opened their home for the Kitchen and Garden Tour fundraiser and now volunteer annually for the event.  Michael has also become an invaluable member of the Spring Fling Committee and has been instrumental in recruiting sponsors for the nonprofit.  Michael was acknowledged for his outstanding efforts with the 2024 Bucks Beautiful Leader Award. 

    Peter R. Fernandez has retired from the Board after 21 years of dedicated service. Executive Director Denise Sezack honored Peter at a recent member reception stating “All of us at Bucks Beautiful are filled with grateful appreciation for Peter’s outstanding commitment to advance the growth of our nonprofit. His leadership as our President, mentor and friend cannot be accurately expressed in words. Peter’s selfless contributions will leave a legacy for all to follow.”

    Dominic Zimmaro has been appointed to the Board of Directors, where he will spearhead the RePlant Bucks reforestation initiative. This Bucks County native developed a love of nature and the outdoors through his involvement in the Boy Scouts. Dominic resides in New Hope with his wife Ashley, where he continues his stewardship of wildlife and public lands. Dominic joined Bartlett Tree Experts in 2021, where he gained valuable knowledge and skills as his career advanced. Dominic is certified as both an ISA arborist and Pennsylvania pesticide applicator. As a Bartlett Arborist Representative, he is backed by the diagnostic resources of the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories. He enjoys helping clients make informed decisions to maintain the health of trees and shrubs and achieve their goals for their properties.

    He joins current Board of Directors Matthew Broad, Steve Darlington, Melissa Eiseman, Mike Feeney, David Fermier, Chuck Gale, Dr. Vail Garvin, Thomas L. Hebel, Gary Mathern, John F. McCaughan, Renny Reynolds, Bryce Sanders, Susan Sandor, Jonathan Sharaf and Carter van Dyke.
