Happy New Year, and welcome to another circle around the sun! Our friendly neighborhood star—93,000,000 miles away—provides everything we need for life on Earth, but it can give a bit too much when it comes to our furniture. Ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate, degrade, and fade furniture finishes; the contrasting colors stand out readily. What about the wood itself? UV radiation actually damages wood cells, causing premature aging of your furniture’s surfaces. We wouldn’t place our bodies under the sun all day, unprotected. Why do it with our furniture?
So what can be done? Spring cleaning! We provide renovation of furniture topcoats that include UV-protective finishes. Finishes with these UV-protective additives can extend the life of your furniture’s surfaces by up to 3-4 times as long as unprotected surfaces—this usually translates into gaining decades of good looking furniture before restoration is needed again. Other spring cleaning for furniture can include cleaning that removes tarnish, dirt, grime, and oils from wood and finished surfaces. Not only are these unsightly, buildups of certain substances can penetrate into wood surfaces and become permanent.

Lastly, I would like to extend an enormous thank you to all my customers who supported this small, veteran-owned and operated business in 2024. Despite my love for restoring furniture, I simply could not continue to do this without the support and trust that my customers give me.
Thank you!
