Bucks LIVE! Spring season in full swing

The spring season of Bucks LIVE! performances is in full swing at Bucks County Community College!  The Zlock Performing Arts Center serves as the hub of culture in Bucks County and a perfect venue for live entertainment shows while being conveniently located on the Newtown Campus at 275 Swamp Rd. in Newtown. 

January 31 at 7:30 pm: Dirk Quinn Band – Scabby Toad 

A whimsically irreverent, complete top-to-bottom reimagining of the Beatles’ legendary album “Abbey Road,” featuring the band wielding traditional instruments for the very first time on record — acoustic guitar, upright bass, piano, drums, and hand percussion — which brings a welcome warmth and authenticity to the reinterpretation.

February 14 at 7:30 pm: John Smitherman & Jessica Edwards – People Will Say We’re In Love 

Crafted for the romantic in all of us and filled with the beautiful music of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, and others, John Smitherman and his lovely wife Jessica Edwards perform romantic duets.

February 28 at 7:30 pm: John Jorgenson – J2B2

J2B2 is an all-star bluegrass supergroup featuring four legendary, award-winning musicians – John Jorgenson on acoustic guitar, mandolin, and vocals; Herb Pedersen on banjo, acoustic guitar, and vocals; Mark Fain on bass; and Patrick Sauber on acoustic guitar and vocals. The band’s live shows have received stellar reviews and have the bluegrass world buzzing.

March 22 at 3:30 pm: Moon Mouse:  A Space Odyssey

Lightwire Theater is proud to present Moon Mouse, a family-friendly cosmic adventure about celebrating differences. Marvin the Mouse is constantly bullied and picked on by the “cool” rats. As respite from the continuous badgering, Marvin retreats into his science books and a world of fantasy. He longs to have adventures and to be the hero.
