Empowering the next generation of women in STEM
Girls Code the World is a woman-owned nonprofit that provides resources, role models, and opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)-related fields for women and girls through educational programming, extended mentorships, and intersectional support.
We host annual summer STEM programs where students build networks with their peers, learn about the breadth of STEM career fields, and develop long-lasting confidence in the classroom and beyond. Our summer programs empower young girls to feel confident and excited about STEM.
Programs are weeklong and generally include lessons about everything from drag-and-drop-based coding, to growing a plant terrarium, and all the ways to build a circuit. We bring in speakers from all across the trajectory of a woman excelling in STEM to expose them to relatable role models.
We empower girls to not just enter STEM fields, but to become leaders in these fields. We focus on a holistic education that centers around a tangible understanding of real-life applications to coding, natural sciences, and engineering skills.
We cultivate authentic confidence in girls through our collaborative activities that strengthen support systems. Girls Code the World is excited to launch our fifth annual summer programs, stretching across more areas than ever before!
If you live in Bucks County, Montgomery County, Philadelphia, or surrounding areas, we have a spot for you. Locations for programming this summer include the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), and the Academy of Natural Sciences, respectively.
