Located in historic Newtown, Friends Village is pleased to announce its upcoming Growth & Change fall programming schedule. The programs cover diverse topics and address various aspects of personal wellness and learning.
Though offerings are tailored for older adults, all are welcome to attend and are free! A film presentation by the Coalition of Natives and Allies (CNA) will be held at 2:00pm on October 9th.
With the support and guidance of Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Eli Noyes, CNA has turned their educational program into the film, NATIVE WOMEN AND ALLIES SPEAK: What We Weren’t Taught in School. In addition to a potent historical overview, the film shares personal and moving stories.
It will be followed by a live, 30-minute question and answer session. Author and storyteller, Robin Moore will discuss “Personal Storytelling” on October 11th at 2:00pm.
While money and possessions can be fleeting, family stories serve as a timeless legacy, with the power to bring families closer together, offering insights into the family’s experiences that have shaped their collective history.
October 18th at 2:00pm features Mimi Blackwell, Director of Philanthropic Services at Friends Fiduciary, as she examines “The Impact of Planned Gifts,” and how everyone can leave lasting impact on causes that hold special significance in their lives.
Gifts of all sizes have an impact and can make a meaningful, enduring difference in the world. On November 2nd at 7:00pm, Sandra Kerr of the Bucks County League of Women Voters will present, “Forgotten Heroes: Women and Their Fight for the Right to Vote.”
This informative and entertaining presentation will look at the 72-year-long fight for women’s suffrage inspired by the centennial anniversaries of the ratification of the 19th Amendment and the founding of the League of Women Voters.
