Times Publishing Newspapers, Inc. in Bucks County, PA has been recently acquired by O’Rourke Media Group, based in Gilbert, Arizona.
Times Publishing’s group of papers include the Doylestown Observer, Fairless Focus, Langhorne Ledger, Morrisville Times, Newtown Gazette, Northampton Herald, New Hope News, Lower Southampton Spirit, Warwick Journal and the Yardley Voice.
The company’s website is www.timespub.com.
“I’m excited about our acquisition of the Times Publishing Newspapers. Donna Allen and her team have done an amazing job consistently and creatively growing print advertising revenue,” said Jim O’Rourke, CEO-Owner. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to acquire and continue to run this group,”
Donna Allen founded the company over 29 years ago, launching each publication from ground zero.
The publications, which are distributed through the post office to over 120,000 households 11 months a year, are unique and very well received in the communities.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve along with my husband and Editor, Mark Allen,” said Donna. “We are so happy to have found Jim O’Rourke because he has proven that he’s able to successfully acquire, strengthen, and continue publishing into the future. We expect great things to come, and for the papers you know and love to continue for a long time. Mark and I wish all our loyal readers and advertisers all the best, and thanks for a great ride.”
The strategic acquisition of Times Publishing Newspapers, Inc. represents continued expansion in the East/Northeast region of the U.S. for OMG.
The company also operates local newspapers, websites and niche publications in Delaware, Virginia and Vermont.
“Each of our acquisitions are so intriguing to me in that they present opportunities to learn from great entrepreneurs and business operators, like Donna Allen,” said O’Rourke. “We are excited to invest in and build a digital audience around the Times Publishing Newspaper brands along with bringing our digital agency solutions to local businesses in these markets,” said O’Rourke. “We also plan to replicate and expand this business model in many more markets in the Philadelphia region over the next few years.”
OMG will be hiring all of the Times Publishing Newspaper employees and will continue to run the company from the established office in Morrisville.
