The Yardley Historical Association will host a guided walking tour of Rivermawr, the town’s northern neighborhood that lies between the Delaware River and the Delaware Canal on Thursday, June 27th at 2:00pm.
The tour will begin at the intersection of Morgan and Fuld Aves. in Yardley Borough.
Susan Taylor, president of the Historical Association, will lead the one-mile walk.
What remains of the original bungalows that were built with summer vacationers in mind will be seen; the story of the Mary Yardley footbridge over the Canal will be told; the effects of flooding on the area will be explained; and Vince Profy, Yardley historian and long-time Rivermawr resident, will share his experiences. He does have some good stories.
A donation of $10 per person is requested. Reservations are necessary. Please call 215-208-1154 or email info@yardleyhistory.org.
