The Artisans Order of Mutual Protection is one of the oldest active fraternal benefit societies in the United States. Civil War Medical Examiners Dr. Bunn and Dr. Matson founded The Artisans in 1873 when they recognized the average person’s need for affordable life insurance and the benefit of strengthening community bonds through fraternalism.
We are not just a life insurance company: we are a fraternal society that treats you like family and have a proven record of dedicated and continued service to our membership and the community.
The Artisans has supported the Philadelphia region and beyond throughout the years with many contributions to various charities and schools, and our members providing cumulative years of volunteer work. We hold many activities and family themed events throughout the year.
For children, we offer free activities including lunch with Santa, an Easter Egg hunt, crafting events, and much more. We also offer scholarship opportunities for our junior members. For adults, we run bus trips throughout the year to places like Gettysburg, Hershey, New York City, and Lancaster and run cruises and other destination trips. For our Senior Artisans, we hold social events that offer them an opportunity to socialize and meet new people.
When you become a member of The Artisans, you become a member of our fraternal family. Located at 414 Hulmeville Avenue, visit www.artisansAOMP.org or call 215-708-1000 for more information.
