Pickleball comes to Lower South!
The Parks and Recreation Department of Lower Southampton is proud to announce the addition of six new pickleball courts to Dolphin Municipal Park this summer. The Township Board of Supervisors voted to approve the pickleball courts, in addition to four new tennis courts and a reconstruction of the existing two basketball courts. The basketball courts will feature a new Sport Court flooring that will also be able to host volleyball.
This project is the next phase of the revitalization of Dolphin Park and will allow us to feature not only open play on all the courts, but also lessons, tournaments, and leagues for all ages. We anticipate the project to be started after this winter and should be completed in time for us to begin offering programs in pickleball, tennis, and basketball this summer.
Speaking of this summer, we are very excited about our expanded summer camp options that will be available in 2025. Our traditional summer camp is back at Dolphin and will once again feature either a six or eight-week option. The camp day runs daily from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and has many activities, trips, and a great staff to entertain and keep your kids safe all summer.
We also offer multiple one-week camp options. At Russell Elliot Memorial Park, we will have a variety of sports camps to choose from while at the Sarah Mitchell Community Center, we will have specialty camps such as Lego, Slime, Art, and Drama.
2025 is going to be a great year for the Lower South Parks and Recreation Department. Don’t miss out on your chance to join the fun. Whether you are looking for a fitness class for seniors or a princess party for your young daughter, there is something for everyone at Lower South.
