Supporting Your Journey to Better Heart Health
If you are living with or recovering from heart disease or a related disorder, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Lower Bucks Hospital is here to support you. Our program integrates monitored exercise, education, counseling, and emotional support, all aimed at enhancing your physical function and quality of life. With your dedicated participation, we can assist you in achieving your optimal level of physical capability.
The Challenge: Underutilization of Cardiac Rehabilitation
Despite the proven health benefits and reduced rates of hospital readmissions associated with cardiac rehabilitation, many patients do not receive referrals to these essential services. Our goal is to change this trend by striving for a participation rate of 70% or higher among patients diagnosed with cardiovascular conditions.
Cardiac Rehabilitation: A Class 1 Recommendation for the Following Patients:
- Congestive Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction
- Post-Coronary Angioplasty or Stents
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Acute Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack)
- Cardiac Transplantation
- Stable Angina
- Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Post-Valvular Surgery
- Peripheral Artery Disease
According to the American Heart Association, cardiac rehabilitation can significantly enhance recovery and overall health for individuals affected by heart disease or disorders.
